Tall Slipper Plant (Pedilanthus bracteatus) is a plant with green cylindrical stems and widely spaced leaves which grow up to 4 inches long. It is attractive in cactus, succulent and xeriscape gardens, and is also very impressive in a large container. It is believed to be auspicious in some Asian cultures. It is easy to grow and requires minimal care. It prefers well-drained sandy soils. Pedilanthus bracteatus flowers attract birds, butterflies and bees.
Place in full sun. Water sparingly, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. No misting needed. Fertilize every 2-3 months during the growing season.
